Father/Son Dove Hunt (09/26/2026)

Kick off hunting season at our youth dove hunt at the Friday Ranch north of Uvalde TX. This event registration is open to father/son pairs (youth participants under 18). Registration limited to 20 people and cost is $60/pair. Accommodations are bunk room style.

Registrants plan to arrive Saturday morning for sporting clay practice and lunch, followed by an afternoon dove hunt with dinner, campfire devotion. Sunday morning enjoy breakfast and morning devotion before heading out. A detailed packing list and paperwork will be emailed out closer to the event

REGISTRATION OPENS 2 WEEKS BEFORE THE HUNT AT 6 AM.

PLEASE NOTE: In an effort to give everyone a chance to go on a hunt this season, we ask parents to limit registering your child for one hunt every 30 days. If after a few days the hunt isn't full, feel free to register. If a hunt is full, please sign up on the waitlist, sometimes there are last minute cancellations.

Who can participate: This youth only deer hunt is for young men ages 7-18.

Where: This deer hunt will be at the East Slater Ranch near Freer, TX. Parents/guardians can drop off and pick up kids at location in San Antonio. Details will be provided as we get closer to the hunt

What to bring: Participants will need a current youth hunting license (available at Academy, Walmart, HEB, etc. for $7). Reaching Outdoors has all the gear needed for the outings, kids just need to bring clothes, toiletries, headlamp, sleeping bag and pillow.

Please note that Reaching Outdoors has an electronic disconnect policy on our weekend adventures and summer camps. Kids should not bring cell phones or other electronic devices. We will provide more details on that in the paperwork that goes out prior to the hunt. We will also include a detailed packing list.

Cost: The cost for this outing is $75. Scholarship funds are available for those in need.

Life Skills Meeting (10/18/2026)

Our monthly Life Skills meeting, starts 5 pm and is open to the entire family. Each month, we will be learning an outdoor skill plus have time for fellowship and a meal. Please register so we have enough food for everyone.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE: This youth only deer hunt is for young men ages 7-18 only.

Where: This deer hunt will take place at the Almosta Nexta Ranch near Mountain Home, Tx. Parents/guardians can drop off and pick up kids at locations in San Antonio/Boerne. Details will be provided closer as we get closer to the hunt.

What to bring: Participants will need a current youth hunting license (available at Academy, Walmart, HEB etc for $7). Once purchased hunting licenses are good for one year. Reaching Outdoors has all the gear needed for the hunt, kids just need to bring clothes, toiletries, headlamp, sleeping bag and pillow.

A more detailed packing list will be sent out with the liability paperwork.

Cost: the cost is $75 per participant. Scholarship funds are available for those in need.
