Reaching Outdoors – Adventure CampsChristian Hunting, Fishing & Outdoor Recreation CampsReaching Outdoors' Adventure Camps are week-long, life-changing Christian camps designed to help young men ages 9-18 grow in faith, confidence, and character through hands-on outdoor recreation. Our camps combine discipleship with adventure, offering a one-of-a-kind experience rooted in God’s creation. This summer, we are excited to host our Adventure Camps at the beautiful Friday Ranch in Uvalde, Texas. Located where the Texas Hill Country meets the rugged South Texas brush country, Friday Ranch offers an exceptional setting for a Christian hunting camp and fishing camp experience. With five miles of the Nueces River, a stocked catfish pond, a recreation barn, and rugged mountain terrain, this location far exceeds expectations and provides endless opportunities for adventure and spiritual growth. Our Saltwater Camp takes place in Port Mansfield, TX. We will provide rides from San Antonio to the camp location. This camp is for young men ages 13 to 18 who love fishing. If your child has never attended a Reaching Outdoors camp, we suggest they first attend an Adventure Camp. Outdoor Adventure & Recreation ActivitiesOur camps provide a balanced mix of skill-building, outdoor fun, and faith-focused mentorship. Campers participate in:
Each activity is designed to help campers disconnect from screens, build confidence, and develop a deeper appreciation for God’s creation through purposeful outdoor recreation. A Christian Camp That’s DifferentWhat sets Reaching Outdoors apart from other Christian camps is our commitment to intentional discipleship and small-group engagement.
Campers arrive as strangers and leave as friends, having experienced a Christian hunting and fishing camp unlike any other—one where faith, adventure, and lasting friendships come together. | FAQsReaching Outdoors Adventure Camps are designed for boys ages 9 to 18 who are interested in growing spiritually, building character, and experiencing outdoor adventure in a Christian environment. Each camp session serves a narrower age range to ensure age-appropriate activities and mentorship. Please refer to the camp calendar for specific age group details for each session. To maintain a high level of discipleship and personal mentorship, each camp session is intentionally limited to no more than 14 campers. This small group setting allows our mentors to focus on individual needs and build meaningful relationships. Campers will enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, which may include hunting and fishing instruction, shooting sports education, hiking, sports recreation, and faith-centered group discussions. Activities may vary based on weather, age group, and camp schedule. No prior experience is required. Our camps are designed for beginners and experienced campers alike. All instruction is age-appropriate, mentor-led, and focused on safety, learning, and confidence-building. Campers are supervised by trained and vetted adult leaders and apprentice guides who are passionate about discipleship, outdoor education, and youth development. All mentors are committed to providing a safe, encouraging, and Christ-centered camp environment. Campers stay in bunk style rooms in designated sleeping areas at camp. Lodging arrangements are safe, comfortable, and supervised by camp staff. Specific accommodation details will be shared with registered families prior to camp. All meals and snacks are provided during camp. We do our best to accommodate common dietary restrictions and allergies. Parents will have the opportunity to note dietary needs during registration. A detailed packing list will be provided before camp. Typical items include appropriate clothing for outdoor activities, personal hygiene items, bedding or sleeping gear, and any required medications. Campers should come prepared for both outdoor adventure and group activities. Reaching Outdoors provides all the gear needed for activities, but campers can bring their own gear. To encourage connection, focus, and engagement, campers are discouraged from bringing phones and electronic devices. Please refer to our electronic disconnet policy at registration. If devices are brought, they are turned off and collected during camp. Emergency communication options are always available through camp leadership. Parents will receive contact information for camp leadership prior to camp. In most cases, communication with campers is limited to allow them to fully engage in the camp experience, but parents may reach camp staff at any time if needed. Campers can also use leaders’ phones if they need to reach out to you. The cost of an all-inclusive camp session is $1,000. This includes lodging, meals, activities, equipment, and instruction. Payment plans are available. To secure a spot, a $250 deposit is required at the time of registration. All families can participate in fundraisers to help cover the remaining camp cost. To help make camp more affordable, ALL campers have the opportunity to participate in a camp raffle fundraiser. Campers may sell raffle tickets for $10 each where purchasers can choose from a prize drawing: either a shotgun or a $500 Visa Gift Card. 100% of funds raised go directly toward the camper’s individual camp account. Raffle tickets will be available beginning in March. Additional details will be provided to registered families. Yes, limited scholarships or sponsorship opportunities may be available based on need and funding availability. Families can request a scholarship application during the registration process.
