Friday Ranch - Youth Quail Hunt - In Honor of Robert Graham

February 21st, 2026 - 9 am to 5 pm

This is a Parent/Child, shotgun shooting sports event for 15 Youth Participants along with their guardian (mother or father, grandmother or grandfather) at the Friday Ranch, located in Uvalde, TX. 

Parent /Guardian will chaperone Youth participants to and from the Friday Ranch for a great day of fun!

While this is a family event for both boys and girls, only 2 siblings per family will be allowed to register, between the ages of 10 to 17 years of age. 

Check-in at 9:00am

Orientation and Safety Briefing will start at 9:30 am

Clay Target Shoot & Hunt: We will begin shooting clay Targets and hunting as soon as the Orientation is completed. 

Clay targets will be thrown for beginners and the shooters (squads) that are waiting to hunt.

Lunch: We will serve a late lunch around 1:00pm with devotional, finishing up around 2:00pm. 

Shooting Equipment: You will need to provide your own shotgun shells for practice targets (approximately 2 boxes) and bird Hunting.

We will have a few extra boxes for the event-

Firearms: We will have 20 and 12 gauge semi-automatic shotguns for loan, including eye and ear protection. 

Plan on cleaning your birds and bringing a small cooler to transport them home. 

Participation Cost: The price per youth shooter is $75. We are purchasing 200 quail for this event at $6 per bird, approximately 10 birds per Youth Participant.

The quail will be hunted behind dogs in squads of 3 to 4 shooters at a time, with a Guide accompanying each shooter!

The birds will be released in 5 different set areas, then the squads will be walking in with the Guides, dogs and handlers. 

NO LICENSE NEEDED: Because birds have been raised and will be released, NO LICENSE is necessary for this event. 

Food: Please bring your own snacks and non-alcoholic beverages. We will have a BBQ meal served between 1 and 2 pm. A devotion will also be shared at this time.

Departure from Ranch: All chaperones and youth participants will depart from the ranch by 5 pm.

Gear to Consider: Camp/Field Chair, Hat, Sunglasses and Sunblock, Hiking Boots, Birds Bag or Vest, 

Weather: Please watch the weather forecast for Uvalde, Texas and be prepared for the weather forecasted.
